Reaper 4 is due around the end of the year.
Reaper 3 is now available for $40 (instead of $60), this includes free updates to 4.99.
I'm waiting until 4.0, then I'll pay $60 for free updates until 5.99.

I hope the video support will be better and maybe even OMF support. It would be a nice post production suite.
Good to hear. I got v3 for $40 last month, so this must be a public announcement.

They've got to do something about their time stretching.
I'd like to see Cubase style time stretching (i.e. time stretch on clip resizing). I always found that method the most useful and natural way to time stretch. @eyesine: Yeah, FL and Vegas (though vegas stretching is not the best sounding around). have that too, it's really nice. Great workflow enhencement.
i'm a bit confused about the above comments. REAPER can already do this, if you hold either shift or alt... can't remember exactly off the top of my head, you can pull an audio or midi item (clip) and it will timestretch it.
it's pretty much been able to do this since they implemented the stretching algos into the program. this was ages ago. i love REAPER. can't wait for 4.

I tried shift, alt, ctrl, ctrl+shift, ctrl+alt, alt+shift, and last but not least consulting the manual.
Select the clip and hit F2 is the only way I can seem to do it. (Or lock to BPM and change the tempo). Wait, I've got it now. It IS resizing using the alt modifier. Nice one! That's not in the user guide... Seems like it should be!
thought so. I can't find much flaw in REAPER, i'm REAPER mad.
Another quick note about the timestretching/pitchshifting. Obviously after you stretch something you can F2 into the item and change its stretching settings, algo etc. And also it's handy to know you can set project default settings if you only like to use one time stretching ago like the elastique pro 2.1. Make it the default and you don't have to do the F2 stuff all the time.

i'm gonna try this out again. i'm spoiled by the strange and wonderful workflow of fl studio though. normal piano roll's just don't do it for me any more! but ima give it a shot.

Rewire! Although FL is unbeatable when it comes to the piano roll, recording and midi is shitty. Best of both worlds!
