You guys seen this? - Korg Monotribe
video
Basically a monotron with drums and a step sequencer.
The Korg Monotribe is the big bro of the Monotron - still with the speaker and Stylophone style keyboard but with more synth control and a drum synth with 8-step Kick, Snare, Hat.
Pricing and availability is still sketchy but Music Radar has it for pre order at £159 though
some other vids from musikmesse...

I think it looks like a lot of fun.

fun, sure. but it has a very limited synth and incredibly limited sequencer and no midi. definately going to be most fun for benders tho especially with the 3 analog drums.
my cv modded gakken sx-150 is more flexible than this and that cost me about 30 quid.

one 8 step pattern, its incredible they can get away with that in this day and age. they really should have built a monotron into one of the existing electribes rather than go this route imo.
considering you can pick up a bass-station, waldorf pulse or many other analog synths like oberheim matrix 1000 or cheetah ms6 for the kind of money this will sell for it doesn't really represent great value imo.

If it had a price tag around 50 - 100 euros would be OK
For £ 159 (that is 180 euros)? Thanks, no.

hehe, seen a musikmesse video about it - journalist asks the korg product specialist "are those the only drum sounds its got?" korg dude answers "yeah, but it's true analog though!"

no way the next 303. the 303 has a much better synth section and a 'proper' sequencer, not just some lame single pattern 8 step thing. and you can sync it to other stuff. its not clear if you can only sync this to other monotribes at the mo or if din-sync is possible.

From the specs:
"The monotribe provides both Sync In and Sync Out jacks, empowering multiple monotribe units to play and work together for a synchronized performance. Not just other monotribes, either. Audio line level pulses can trigger the Sync Input so the monotribe can be synchronized to a DAW system, for example. In addition, the polarity of the pulse waveform can be changed for both the input and output, so you can enjoy synchronized performance with a variety of equipment equipped with Sync connections."
I'm not fussed on the drums, would have preferred 16 step sequencer tbh...I still think it looks like fun though.

I think it looks awesome! About 300 bucks? Thats a buzzkill, but awesome yes. Could serve as a great, simple, hands-on songwriting tool. I like the drum sounds alot, and the fact it has its own speaker... cool indeed.
