Just wanted to remind everyone that Mixit 100 is on, and people are doing wacky stuff with fun samples. I think the sample output is really good this time around. So, if you haven't started, go ahead and grab some samples at link and see what you come up with.

I've started something.
 i haven't been around here in years, but i used to do the mixit all the time.. in fact, i stole all of the samples for my first album from mixit.. i was looking forward to trying my hand at it again, but i can't find where to register on the site you linked.. am i missing something?

i've always have a massive pet peave with this... it's been a problem since soon after the mixit started.
for people to be involved there needs to be open registration at all times. the forum itself should be wrapped inside of the mixit site and not actually be the main site. there are extensions to phpbb to control spam. if that doesn't work, you should delete phpbb and replace it with a simpler solution that will fit our needs. do you need help? if there's anything i can do i'd love to contribute. the mixit just needs an overhaul imho. I agree. An overhaul is definitely needed. I was looking into WordPress or Joomla or Drupal or something, as I cannot code, but it seems like something like that would be easy to maintain and a better solution than this. I just spent about an hour cleaning up all the spamming on the current site.
I saw you posted something of a Google site, but I could not see it. I've tried all sorts of counter-spam measures, it just seems that phpBB is particularly vulnerable. I agree that we need to redo this. I'm willing to put time and money into it. I can't code beyond css and html, but I can buy hosting, and spend a good amount of time on things. So yes, I'd be happy to accept any help you have to offer. I'll pm you with my email. That is a better way to get a hold of me. I kind of forgot how this works.
Once I'm done my track, I have to upload it before Jan 1st? Is there an option to do it after Jan 1st? (I'm going to be away from the internets around that time.) i guess the forum is set to stop accepting uploads on the 1st, but if you miss it i'm sure you could upload it somewhere and post the link at the forum once you're reconnected
i think i'm done with my submission.. gonna let it sit for a while and come back to it, but it feels complete.. i forgot how much fun mixit can be.. working with the time and sound constraints is good for creativity By the 1st? Neat!! i'll do some more on it tonight. Mine will be short track.
