Electronic Music discussion: Granular synthesis
Store Written January 11 2012 , Tags: Granular, synthesis, xenakis, grain
Had a grainular soft synth for the atari falcon, it was not realtime and I was unable to get any useable sounds out of it... Can anyone recommend any favorite musical compositions that use grainular synthesis? Any personal techniques for getting useful sounds? Any views or opinions?

audiomulch is great.
reaktor also. lot of granular ensembles available in the library.
Recent blogs: Petite épée - my last ep
tim hecker is granular all over the place, and really beautiful. (He uses audiomulch.)
Curtis Roads' music is really wonderful, he's also written a great book on granular synthesis (and other things) called Microsound: Video

There sounds to be some granular things happening in Francois Bayle's music too! Video I couldn't find it on youtube, but another favorite of mine is his Le Sommeil d'Euclide on the '89 computer music currents comp. Worth tracking down!
microsound ftw!
