Finding my way around em411 once again, I used it way back when it first started, and think I will begin using it once more, always great.
I wanted to share a project with you all that I am working on, and I am finding the more feedback, freinds I make, the more of a joy it is to do. Its been tough and challenging, but ultimately through being inspired to begin it from the likes of Taylor Deupree (who actually reminded me of em411) and Marcus Fischer, I want to inspire others to do something like this. It has been the most amazing experience, meeting so many supportive people…yeah blow away by peoples kindess and support.
So what is it?
I have always battled with putting myself out there, and although have had some small things along the way, have always been busy in the studio, trying to make it 'just right'…I am sure you all know what I am talking about.
Time has past, and from beginning making sounds at the tender age of 10, and even more seriously in my early teens, I have had very little work out in the public. Jobs would get in the way, girls would distract me, and movements would come and go, my interests would change and so would the world of music. Those guys who were at the beginning of their career I have watched develop and…well, you know what I mean.
So I wanted to do something about it, and so through identifying my problem area of forever a work in progress, I decided to take the plunge on a scale that I would have never had done before.
Through the suggestion from my partner Lucia, I decided to create a sound a day using only my Nord Modular, for a whole year, posting it to my blog.
I wouldn't say I am a blogger, or prolific, or disciplined or any of those things, and yet I am still going strong.
I highly recommend anyone who is reading the nodding their head to do the same.
So I would love to hear from anyone who enjoys the blog, there thoughts, anything, and obviously if you like my sounds too then thats great.
I will try to pop back to em411 when I can, but feel free to email me at martin AT NOSPAM mono-log.org, as I normally have my mail open all day.
I hope you enjoy the blog and even more than that, I hope to hear of you doing something like is.
Thanks for reading this long message.
