Electronic Music discussion: Matlab?

Anybody here using Matlab for em?
Comments
matlab is wrong even for its actual purpose, i.e. data analysis.

i haven't used it for em, but i have used it for several other things. my advice: stay clear of matlab.

ps: a good alternative is python with the numpy, scipy and matplotlib libraries.
i've used matlab a little bit in my grad work, but mainly steer toward other tools. The whole "file per function" bit is really dumb IMO. Matlab can certainly do a great deal (it has loads of DSP tools), but I'd recommend tools like the ones mentioned here or PDL::Audio. If there's a programming language you like using, you can probably find computer music tools for that language. I've been gravitating toward Chuck recently...
I've never used matlab, but I've been working on music in python for about a year & have really enjoyed myself. Here's my hacky system: link
