--> hows it going EM411?
this blog is for announcing the crappiest piece of equipment you've ever owned.

mine: Roland D2 groovebox.

why: ugly early-'90s orange paintjob. the junky d-pad feature was nowhere near excting as the kaoss pad and also replaced the mini-keyboard (and the spinback effect was total cheese). only phono and 1/8" jacks. had the general midi claps and gunshots (seriously like WTF?). and the worst part about it is that the machine didn't have enough processing power to play a pattern and mess with the effects at the same time - it would glitch up everytime you tried to do something mildly processor-intensive.

worst buy EVER.

I know people love them, but my worst buys were the Ensoniq ASR-88 and the Korg ES-1.

But I grew up with computers, so I don't understand how to make music with hardware.

oh great, now there is a photo of some poop right on the front page of the site.

that settles it, I'm buying one on ebay right now.

well, there are plenty of contenders, but i'd have to say it was "nate wood's trombone"

he left it outside of the band room one day, and me and electrodan and his brother brought it back and recorded a nice jam with it. it was a shitty student trombone and well, none of us played the trombone.

but i guess it's disqualified because we didn't "buy it" per se.

Yamaha DJX.
Had some cool arpeggiators and I used to use it as a MIDI controller. As far as actually producing sounds it was total garbage although I had some fun with it. I was always sure to do my research after that one.

one day i bought your mom, she didn't have any outs, so I plugged her in, twisted her knobs and all i got was a sceam sound. It was way boring.

I hope that shit came out the easy way...(ref picture)

nope, it was by plunger.

and as far as the subject goes, I really think I like all of my kit.. crazy huh? actually, I think I am my worst piece of kit. None of my equipment wanks around on the internet like me.

lol- wanker

at first, i thought that said 'nate's wood trombone'.. and well, that just sounded plain dirty. I was a little disappointed when I realized that it was an actual trombone.

yamaha sy-22. shit sample-based "vector" synth, no filters, weak samples, assy vector ability. utter crap.

still your mom...

I guess you aren't allowed to post

your mom

more than a few times on this page...

it seems discriminating

can we nominate software?
anyway - i vote for arturia's modular moog.
sounds - not too shabby
interface - why oh why do you have to emulate an interface with cables on a computer? why do all the routing labels have to be so hard to read? why waste my precious CPU animating cables? vaz and karmafx synth got it right.
