Oh, and my fave synth moments:

Information Society: "Running" (Damn, love that sequencer bass that opens that track)
Autechre: "Cipater" (sp?)
Soul Oddity: Every song they recorded. Synths crack me up.
Mouse on Mars: "Distroia" (stomach music!)

as: Pajama Party (Toast and Jam put it out on CDr a few years back)

First time he played a draft for us, we wept. I'm not certain what emotion inspired the weeping."

LOL!

+1 to distroia - that single played at 33 is just amazing.

That synthy sound right at the beginning of "Never Let Me Down" by Depeche Mode.

Lead synth in "Love will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division.

The floaty moog lead in "Wild Mountain Honey" by The Steve Miller Band.

"Sweet Dreams" by The Eurythmics.

The bassline in NIN's "Closer".

Squarepusher's "Theme from Goodbye Renaldo" (my all-time favorite squarepusher+101 track).

"Using an EmulatorII to fake snoring and coughing" by Ferris Bueller.

the ending to Revenge of the Nerds.

sooooo em411.

word 2 sweet dreams, one of my fave synths too

that swarpy guitarry synth thing on Never Let Me Down was explained in the documentary that accompanies the new re-release of "Music for the Masses," but I can't remember know what they said about it...

Nine Inch Nails - "Ringfinger"
