--> I recently got a copy of Serato and have been playing my tracks in with records.... it's so awesome! So I figured I would post it here and see if ppl were into it, maybe felt like playing it as an mp3 etc.....

If you're curious to know how the tune came about... I talked about it on one of my podcast episodes. Part of what makes this tune a little different for me, is that I've been working on this theory of 5. I think it's pretty neat. I adapted my idea from an article I read by Walter Murch, Dense Clarity - Clear Density link But instead of using movie sound tracks and distinguishing voices and ambiance / active sound and passive sound. I thought of the track as 5 sounds that share the stage of being active and passive sounds.

I thought the hi-hat/ride/cymbals were all abit too loud.
Personally I felt they might have been a bit long too, as they seemed to bleed into eachother quite a bit (especially the 16ths on the hi-hat).
I don't know if that's an effect you're after though.
The synth line didn't seem to have much presence in the mix, I think maybe making it louder would change that though.
It's a shame because I like the melody and the parts where there are no synth at times feel a bit monotonous.
I'm not sure if there was another synth sound or whether it was the ring of the kick.

But I don't really know much about Techno, so I might have said nothing of any value.
The only Techno I really know is Ellen Allien and Miss Kittin.

love the feel of this track, nice and hard. I like the vocal sample, but when you use it like once every measure/ever other measure, it loses its punch, the processing on it starts to feel a little monotonous.

i can see how your 'theory of 5' is working here. this is a tight track, although i think it could use some more minimal moments - 5 is good but i think you could reduce the total density in places. really consistent mood here. good work.

The is fast and the hihats are bleeding cause i looking for a way to slur it all together... The idea I had behind this track is to compose a 'song' version of it. A version that had everything and the kitchen sink in it... and if it had legs and really grew on me, to go back and remix it and pull out some of the elements and make a more stripped version of it.

For it's raw punch I figured come on strong in the beginning and let it live and carry on towards the end. As a track it's a little dense and crazy, but using it in Serato, I've had alot of fun chucking it around and in with other peoples music.

This reminds me a lot of Anthony Rother/Aux88...pretty sweet!

Yeah, the hats and cymbals are a touch loud, but the groove is great.

yeah, absolutely love it. busy track, but it works for me, keeps me busy when listening. for the floor I'd also love to hear a more stripped version.

Maybe I came across as an ass in my earlier comment, if so I apologise.
I just read my comment while listnening again and I can see how depending on how you read it, it might seem negative.

I like the synth melody, I just wish there was more of it.
There was something else I liked too but I couldn't figure out what it was. Then I realised - The pitched kicks and the main beat
I guess the reason I thought it could become monotonous in some parts, is because of the context in which I'm listening.
If it was played in a club, I'm sure it would strike a stronger chord (cord?) with me.

nice track.
I imagine you're a big richie hawtin fan?

This is cool club to me, very nice, old school.
Love the low voice.

Came to dance
Outa control, lol.
That beta gets to be a bit much,
but really fun track idea!

yeah it was tons of fun to do.. i'm a fan of green velvet, richie, and laurent garnier .... so you can hear abit of all of em in the tune.

if i were to put it out on vinyl i'd definitely do a stripped down less 'busy version' but for listening on the computer i found that it's better to make it busy rather then not. Although it's alittle annoying some alot of the stuff i do ends up being pretty catchy. but that's part of what i like about all this... the rules are so lose, as long as it feels fun... it's worth it.

this is really cool. a lot darker than i expected from your cheery disposition on your podcast...
