--> hmmm, well kranky said no. well, they said it was better than 99% of music they receive and that they welcome more music from me, which is good i suppose. but now leaf have said they want more, as have room40 so i'm working on lots of new material right now (with a very slow desktop )

this is a new one, do the levels get annoying? is there enough/any progression?

thanks x x x x

oh and yes that pic is me with a carrier bag on my head. it was raining and i had no choice. kthnks.

im thinking that conet project sample is too loud now. much much too loud.

keep sending Kranky stuff, then, keep that foot in the door.
I dont know anyone who has sent a label a demo and gotten signed. Relationships take time.
Play some shows with their bands and hang out with them.
Keep it up.
This track is coool, I like the ring mod voice.

yeah someone once told me that the only 'band' to ever be signed from a demo was Def Leppard. He was a tutor at my college, but he is probably wrong/lying. Because that would be fucking ridiculous in more ways than one.

thanks ml

id rather be on leaf then kranky.

I'd rather be on Def Leppard

i like this one a lot. i think the progression is good. i like the way it keeps coming back to the same place, but a little different each time.
the only thing i would add is a few extended bass notes from about halfway thru to complement that creepy penny whistle melody. but that could just be because i watched Traffik last night again and the soundtrack has been going around in my head all morning.

i, too, like the ring modulated voice. is that melody a DTMF tone?

people get signed off demos. it def'nley happens. just not as much. sam beam (iron and wine) sent in his demo's and they got directly quoted into 'the creek drank cradle'...and that was sub-pop. but then again he had about 30 stellar tracks from years of work just sorta laying around. guided by voices were signed to matador off a friend who sent in their demos for them, cause pollard was too unambitious to even try. hah.

anyways, this is great(still).

keep at it matt, you'll get your stuff out there.

I enjoy this...very subtle, but good. I wouldn't change a thing, just start a new track ;o)

i like it a lot too ! very relaxing
