nq - pantone serenade
Release StoreTags: idm, booo drone, i couldn't care
-->
I had some time to work on some choons. it's the typical idm skittery beat with some pads and abstract melodies.
not sure about some frequency stuff, as i still don't have my monitors at my new place. just some shitty headphones.
of course this is somehow work in progress, but since i don't have the time nor the internet connection to be here as i was some month ago – just wanted to chime in with some sonic ditties.
lemme know what you think

i love teh drum sounds. the twinkly melody sounds a bit weak and thin in comparison, both in it's sound and in the aimless way it seems to plonk around.. but i love the drums sounds, and the gravelly detail in the intro and outro (or is it just the intro, that its looped back to? no it was the outro!).

yeah, the intro is souuund...
the twinkly melody is a bit too noodly for moi too, it's a shame to include it.
enjoying the beats tho, good quality. what does it sound like w/o that twinkly melody? Nice to hear sth new from you, it's been a while.

wow
wtf.
this is really cool.
actually, it may be one of the best things i've heard of yours. especially the sound design stuff at the beginning-very big and well conceived.

ooh yeah - this is the business! the way that it builds - it keeps threatening to come in darkly, but when it does kick off it's in a really mellow way. i prefer the melodies to the kicks - i think the contrast is really good, i've just never been a fan of bitcrushed kicks. the snares and other percussive elements are excellent too, and the way the whole groove sounds like some kind of fucked-up lopsisded merengue is genius.
seriously - i hope somebody pays you in big gold bars for your tunes! just not progressive form, eh? ;)

this sh*t is HOTZ.
good god damn. beatwork is fantastic. pads are nice. i don't mind the somewhat randomness of the melody, although i'm weird that way. i'm sure if you changed it around i'd appreciate it then too.
thanks for sharing.
peace

i liked the beat alot, but i though that some where in the song, maybe some sort of climax, therte should have been some sort of easily recognized snare drum to set the actual pace of the song. it seems that it could be a half time slow beat or drum and bass feel , but with out the snare, there is not telling.
did you want it this way?

i can feel you there about the snare.
i thought quite a lot of bringing in some sort of snare stuff to make it more recognizeable concerning pace and direction. but i ended up thinking, that i like it really much this way, as it always seems to sound a litle different, depending on what element you focus while listening.
