He Can Jog - Suite for Kenny and Nick
Release StoreTags: pulse, repetition
-->
I'm working on a continuous five part suite as a gift for my friends Kenny and Nick. This is the first two parts, though I'm going to develop the second part for a few more minutes so it's just a start right now. I'd like to start it off very still and build energy into a frenzy, and then let it float out till the end. So this is the still part into the build to a frenzy. The plan is to do a very rhythmic EP with no breaks between tracks and no drums or percussion to speak of - I've already cheated on the last part with some clicks I might take out.
Is the first part active enough? Does it move forward or does it get boring?
Does the second part feel like it's moving too quickly too soon? Do the sections inside of the second part feel like they move naturally from one to the other or does it feel forced?
I'd love some comments Thanks dudes!

really like the chord progression in the xylophone line in part two. since you say it's going to get longer, i think that's really cool, i think this material will work really well as the beginning to a larger piece. the beginning is slow, but like i say, if it fits into a larger structure, then it's all for the good.

absolutely beautiful!
if the second part is going to be longer, the slow build of the first section will be fine.
i love the tones in both parts - they share enough similarities to be familiar as the piece progresses, but are also different enough to give to piece the "movement" you asked about.

This is my favorite so far and I would absolutely love to hear it move toward a frenzy. Yes a frenzy would be epic. It's already epic. epic-er. More epic. It's lovely.

I love the way this shimmers. Makes me think of new beginnings and opportunities.
Got a bit of a jolt in the transition to the second part, but love the rhythmic vibe.
Nice one.

yes, this is a wicked track... can't wait to hear the whole thing. I think there is quite a bit of anticipation in it for me... waiting for what's next.
