He Can Jog - Suite for Kenny and Nick
Release
StoreTags: pulse, repetition
Author: hecanjog on December 04 2006
--> I'm working on a continuous five part suite as a gift for my friends Kenny and Nick. This is the first two parts, though I'm going to develop the second part for a few more minutes so it's just a start right now. I'd like to start it off very still and build energy into a frenzy, and then let it float out till the end. So this is the still part into the build to a frenzy. The plan is to do a very rhythmic EP with no breaks between tracks and no drums or percussion to speak of - I've already cheated on the last part with some clicks I might take out.

Is the first part active enough? Does it move forward or does it get boring?
Does the second part feel like it's moving too quickly too soon? Do the sections inside of the second part feel like they move naturally from one to the other or does it feel forced?

I'd love some comments Thanks dudes!

excellent. shockingly so, altough i have one small criticism- the guitar tone that comes in at the second half sounds a bit thin. the thinness works later, where there's more stacked against it, but at first it sticks out to me.

effing gorgeous, man. he can write. he can compose. he can mix. he can jog.

zing

lol

thanks so much guys!

jdg - i gots an older sister

startwav - i'm gonna shop it when i finish i think, but i'm more than happy to hook up any em411 peeps who are interested when i finish it. i imposed an arbitrary deadline of january 1st, so if anyone would like a copy bug me around then i did just finish a record which i'm also shopping right now. it's been done for a while tho, so time to move on!

astroid - i feel you, the guitar tone is bothering me too, i might try just layering a second instrument playing something similar on top of it at the start of the 2nd part. ooh or maybe just a bassline.

thanks so much again guys, i really appreciate all the kind words

my first thought was either widening it in the stereo field or just adding a little boost to the low mids-and then automating it back out once everything else comes in to give it that nice clarity.

lovely, as expected.
