Release
StoreTags: fongtcore, post-idm, psychadelic, vocoder
Author: mlbot on December 21 2006
--> Roshi and I have begun a collaboration.
This is a work in progress, but we're liking the progress so far.

He plays guitar and drums and computer on this one. I added more computer.
All songs need more computer, right?

We don't have a band name yet.

yes computers are awsome.

awosme.

mlbot music is awsome too.

this seems really thick. some reverb going on in here?

drum sounds sound a little off.

its cool dont get me wrong, i just cant turn it up very loud before my ears get offended.

how about "ro-bot"?

epic

IM SURPRISED HOW GOOD THIS SOUNDS.

don't u hate when ppl say this.

ok.. so the mid highs are a bit much.. cuz u know.. if i think they are.. they must be insane for a regular person.

also i like it. esp that there is drums.
i like durms.

also, new name for a thriftstore:
"Its not me, its you"

Post IDM, LOL.

Cool song. Begging for vocals. And a spongebob-esque guitar solo.

Well, maybe not the solo.

love the guitar stuff.

i want to hear more.

LOL. Yes I do.

There is a lot of computer that is masquerading as guitar in this song.

There is also a drum synth masquerading as a drummer.

I think we also left a hippie in there somewhere.

There's also guitar masquerading as synth.

I hate it when hippies get lost in the mix. But, hell ,this is portland. Its impossible to do anything without getting hippies all over it. Kinda like cat hair... it gets everywhere no matter what you do to clean up.

OK, yeah, because there are two layers of drum parts I'm not suprised they fall off at times. That'll take some gridless cutting and dragging.
And the high end, yes, I'll start taming that. I always go overboard trying to use high end as a way to make lead sounds clear in a mix.
Wall of sound is harder than it looks.

And, yes, Roshi, we need a solo.
Squeal: there are actually vocals in the end section already.

Those squishy techy drums in the middle are pretty sweeet...sounds pretty 80s-esque, which is a good thing, at least in this context. The vocals are pretty funking spooky...sounds like Christopher Reeves trying to make a come back...from the dead.
Solo? I'll have to brush up on my yngwie then.

i like those vocaloids. nice song

Very cool yes - I agree with Squeal, some shoe-gazing indie vocals would go great over parts of this.

I am reminded of 4AD.
that is a reserved compliment.
great collab.
bandname: ... Rorschachbot ?
link lol sorry

awesome track !

thanks! And I'll take a 4AD reference as a full compliment any day, no matter how you intended it

mlbot + roshi = moob rash?
