--> Deer - Signs and Ports

This is a rework of a song I posted maybe half a year ago. I was unhappy with the old bassline and threw that right out of the window, mixed it new and added some new small details here and there. I'm not on proper monitors right now, so there's bound to be some mistakes in there still, but in general I like it much better now. Is the bassline changing too often still? Anything else that stands out as crappy? Undecided whether it'll fit into the mood of the new album, but I hope so. Enjoy, happy christmas and a great new year 2007 em411

grr, the player is still playing an older release, check the new one here if the player doesn't work right: link

From what I heard (before the player froze up on me that is) the bassline is pretty sweet. The changes it makes ads to the overall persona of the track.
At least, thats what I think.
Nice. Diggin it.
Cant wait for the full album.

sorry about the freezeup, I reuploaded the track because I noticed I made an error in the volume automation of the bassline in the second part of the track.. all good now.

Beautiful job on the track...very industrially soothing...I'm lookin' forward to an encore of this.

oh i remember this oen..
i'll listen later when im plugged into the speekers

oh .. this is hot.

lots of little details.

just have the patop speakers. but nevertheless, this was absolutely a rocker.
can't wait to hear an album with stuff like this

The bassline sounds great to me. The mix is immaculate.

This song is like a 2006 upgrade to the "Accelerator" album by Future Sound of London.

I'm also looking forward to the album.
nice job deer

This track works much better with the new bassline. Would like to hear it in context with the other tunes on the album/ep. As it sounds on the player here with the other stuff, it's really nice :-).

i love this. it grows on me more and more.
the beginning i listened to on its own.
i think it could go many places...
the bassline (as always) is great. the drums, hot as per usual.
the melody/incidental synth is not my favorite.
Not to say I don't love it how it is.

I dig! That bass is a+.

good solid electro minimal techno

zanf and your work shares some similarities - you both are committed to saving the groove and keeping it alive

this is great.

please tell where the elements came from.

great detail!

thanks everyone, glad you like it - pretty happy to have finally finished it myself.

re: details, let's see.. bassdrum is operator, rest of the drums impulse with a mix of drummachine and fieldrecording samples, then regular fieldrecordings here and then. the bubbling synth is the g2, percussive and sequenced synth sounds come from the g2 as well (one of the ones coming in later is an arp2600-like patch). the two pads come from u-he zebra, same as the repetetive low bubbling bass. the bassline is audio realism bassline.. oh and one of the sequenced gated synths is a sample from Reaktor's Vierring that I still had around from back when I had Reaktor installed. other key roles for Audio Damage's Dubstation and Reverence plugins

this is full of so many wonderful details. I normal can't sit and listen to dance stuff, but thos is effin dope!

Good ups broseph.
