--> this is a song my girlfriend, ariel westberg, wrote, and which I arranged and produced. it has been being played down at the local NPR station-KCRW with some regularity.

if you remember a few years ago, when there was the issue of the young american activist, rachel corrie, being run over by a israeli tank as she stood in front of a palestinian doctor's house, trying to protect it. She was killed. ariel and I both went to school with rachel. ariel lived with her, she was one of her good friends. this song was written to her.

is this working? i can't make heads or tails of this new player thing.

she sounds older than she looks.

excellent.

thanks for sharing this astriod, . i like all the low frequencies.

yeah it works. and this will now play anytime someone looks at your id.

i was thinking today that i should make a little 15 second song as my 'theme song' for that reason. as it is my current release is a 10 minute noise wank, that doesnt take off for 2 minutes. i think sometime in the future we will have 'player preferences' kinda like myspace how you can choose if it autoplays or what the order is and whatnot.

no the picture is of rachel corrie. that's not ariel. thanks!

i know. you posted some sort of pic of ariel in an avitar or blog or something a while back.

oh heh. yeah people always think she's 16.

the vocal kinda reminds me of that portishead chick and fiona apple, which is cool.

there is a passage of this song that really reminds me of a sting's song. i don't know the title, is one dedicated to a pianist from brooklyn and based on a theme he wrote. do you know wich song i mean astroid?
Anyway, touching, lovely arranged, ariel sings really well, gentle voice, i love this tune, some parts better than others. i want to check out all your music.

super pretty ashtroids. you complimented her quite well.
ive decided im the king of shitty comments... but yesss i did enjoy, its gewd.
she have a nice voice, my favorites part is when it goes guitar + voice only

huh, don't know that sting song, bluer..

thank you all for checking it out and the nice compliments

Damn. I remember first reading Rachel's story and being so appalled by it. It floats in and out of my thoughts every once in a while.

The music is beautiful astroid. The arrangement and instrumentation are very well done and frame the vocal quite nicely. This is one of those "I wish I could write stuff like this" tracks for myself.

I'm listening again today and it's sooooooo beautiful but i still don't remember that song's name. i'll tell ya.
wich instruments can you play astroid?

thanks sohcahtoa!

i can play, in descending order of facility, sax (20 years), flute (9 years), guitar (13 years), bass, drums, and some various other things in there.

I told my folks the other night when they asked, "so what is Scott doing now?" -- "well, he's blah blah blah producing, engineering etc., and in his spare time being one of those composers who, if he has the oppurtunity to get a hold of [money + Orchestra], will be talked aboot in modern classical music 100 years from now.

jesus i don't deserve that but thanks anyway. tell yer maw and paw i say hi.
