--> here is the latest installment in what is so far a three part series infusing a sense of melancholy or loss into pulse-driven textures. the other two parts are "Her Eyes are so Very Young and Old" and "The Perfect Moment Never Came". hope this gives you a moment to meditate on the relationship that was not meant to be. and then... snap out of it! life is so much better now!

I have to tell u, the last three releases, thei "set" if u want to call it is top notch. The guitar work in this one is nice. Workin the pulse.
When it hits the lower cords I do get a distinct feeling of something lost.
Nice. Very.

I really like this. Of the three, I like Perfect Moment the best.

My $.02: As others have said, I'm not so sure about the guitar. You're a guitarist, so I wouldn't advocate ditching that, but I don't think the sound really fits the pulsing and other rhythmic textures you have (too much of a typical guitar sound for my tastes). Send the guitar through some plugs and see what you come up with.

dig it.. keep the gitfiddle

This is great. I love the chord progressions you've created.

Replacing recognizable guitar sounds with ones who's character is dictated by effects processors is not necessarily an improvement. Rather, it would be swapping one familiarity for another. I find the overtly artificial sound of digital delay with these predominantly acoustic sounds to be a simple but pleasing choice.

Having said that, it's never a bad idea to play around with plug ins. But it sounds like you did bit crunch some of these tracks a bit. Is that so?

In any case, excellent work.

i think a more thoughtful performance on the guitar and a bit of clever filter work on your hand would be much more sophisticated and subtle in melding the acoustic performance in with the electronics.
also, maybe its my monitors, but the electric guitar that comes in at the end is waaaaay to loud. its very distracting and startling from the wonderfully hypnotic mood!

I like that track more then your previous ones - though I think you should record some parts again and the last guitar part which comes is a bit too loud in my oppinion.

And it also reminded me some Jim O'Rourke.

i appreciate all your comments. re: processing the guitar... i really like the pure tone of the acoustic guitar juxtaposed with the more ambient pulses, which are themselves derived from guitar parts recorded then chopped up and arranged into the pulses themselves. but i have explored more processed guitar sound in the past (ex. "strategies of being") and will continue to do so. this acoustic gtr with pulses is just a recent obsession of mine and i tend to work with only a couple of minimal ideas at a time in my music (though not always). re: the too loud gtr part at the end of this track... i pulled it back a little bit. it's still pretty present though. some of you may still think it's too loud.

beautiful. near perfect

Nice and meditative. Lovely.

i need to listen to this 50 more times
