--> I made this song and want to share

non-experimental and very much planned. there are a few things i will change on it ... EQ or some level adjustments.

I am particularly interested to hear criticisms on the way the vox sets in the track.

The vocals sit well. They're up front but seem to be in a different space than the up front synths. Have you tried putting some reflections on them for further isolation? Their level sounds good to me on headphones. But I suspect they'd be too quiet to understand if heard in car. It's always hard to balance what sounds good in a quality listening environment with what's required for a bad one.

What mic setup did you use to record them?

lovely track!

yah mang.. just fix that EQ in places.. vox sit well.
i wish it had more "body" tho.

strip video poker....ha!
somehow i hear turntables scribblin' or scratching. oh - there in the middle is a gated thing - that works the same feel in.
good stuff! also good for my headphones feels "close" or... personal with this mix.

JDG, What do you mean more body? As in song structure or fullness of sound?

Nicknotis, I just have a crappy 40$ audiotechnica mic in my bedroom plugged in to my makie to my computer, although I dream of the day when I spend a few hundred dollars on a real microphone. I think the hard to understand part is where quality of a good microphone would fix it, cause if i turn the level on the vox up much more, it really over powers the song.

I'm glad to hear that the vox sit well for the most part. I have been feeling urges to sing alot more and I finnally got around to doing a whole song or lyrics.

ITs not about strip poker, its about a girl and our relationship, which is odd to me at the moment, and seems like a game.

Thanks for the ideas guys, and thanks for listening.

Sometimes cheap stuff works better in the mix than fancy stuff. Regardless, bravo on getting such a good sound out of 40 bucks of mic equipment.

no, song structure is dope.
just the vox sounds thin/weak/etc

i want a little more power.

maybe bring down the snare rushing part too in the mix.

maybe try this.
get a another copy of the vox running.
compress and distort the hell out of them
EQ a big bump at 300-400hz.. and mix them in to taste ??
maybe?

i'll mess around with that in a few days when i go back and play with levels, thanks.

i also think that the snares' part could be a little less loud
other than that, i like a lot
