--> this'll have some rhymes over the top of it, so it's quite sparse. it's not finished yet, and i'd really appreciate any comments on the mix.

thanks

drums sound mice, the bass synth sounds good, though somehow just a little weak next to the ballsy kick.

seems like a good founddation for an mc, overall polished and somewhat aggressive.

real underscored funkyness. I like that. The mix is good, But I would love to hear a bit of noise in the right place making that snare stick up a bit while preserving its nature as a dark snare, just a little noise in the right place would give it a bit more bite.

Love the micro reversed stuff. Im with cc, cool foundation for a mc. Playfull too. Nice, Ill listen to it in my car.

thanks guys!

CC - you mean the bass is volume weak or frequency weak? it's got a sidechin on it. or maybe i should reduce the kick a bit

utofbu - cheers. i was thinking about a bit more click in the snare - i'm going to listen to it on my stereo instead of my monitors and see how it sounds

for my taste the snare is lacking some hi-end (i'd layer it with someting more zingy). For me the snare loses a bit of its power through being triggered too frequently, i'd go for 'support' accent sound(s) to take the place of the 'ghost' snare hits and keep the main snare triggering only twice per measure i think.

i love the twangy speech smapples too. the whirring pad in the breakdown is lovely. love the slithery weirdness of this.

thanks cbit. i'm going to have to sort out that snare and separate out the beat loop into its constituent parts. there is another percussive part behind the beat loop which maybe adding to the confusion too

edit: i made those vocal bits with the reaktor splitter ens. the sequencer in it is pretty weak, but if you trigger it from midi, it's a fantastic loop slicer, so many possibilities!

yes.. that snare is too woody.. needs more fuzz! :LD:D:D::D:D

cbit: ahh, that's pretty funny!

jdg - i'm gonna shave my pubes and stick 'em to that snare

drums are a bit on the weakling side. they need to carry an 8 bit paunch or something

HEY.. can u make the drums pump a bit.

put a noisy compressor on it.. with slow attack fast release.. so it just goes smaAAAK booOOM. like that?

smaAAAK booOOM eh? i like your style..

let me see what i can do...
