--> Well, here is a completely new track from me.

I went to a friends this weekend and we worked on about 4 different songs but this came the furthest. It's not finished and Im not too sure about certain aspects of it but Im happy with the amount of time/effort and the result.

Not anything greatly exciting, groundbreaking or the sort - just a little ditty that tickled me when I was writing it. It reminds me of when I was about 9 and the ska records that were being played at the time althought it is nothing like them before you think Im making a comparision.

The mix could be right out as I did it at a friends and I really cant guage the sound of his place yet so forgive me if it sounds crap.

The title came from STFU Weimar. All bottles have a refundable deposit.

As I said, a work in progress so comments welcome.

nice! sublime mood. i'm listening in 'phones, so i'll withold mix critiques until i'm on the monitors, but it's a cool little tune. and i like the subtle ska reference.

l was waiting for it to kick off.
i dunno why.. it just felt like it need to "KICK OFF"

yeah, you said it best yourself: 'just a little ditty that tickled me'

me too.

the fact that it's a tickling little ditty suits it for an album opener. Something to whet the appetites of the audience without blowing your wad on their face from the get-go.

It's great to hear a brand new Zanf track

So the eq of the intro pattern is cool. I wish the bass came in the way it does on sleep my child... a steady held out note. Right when you change to the main beat. Boooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmm. Then switch to that staccato bassline that you have. Try it.

that beat is fresh. nice work!

excuse me....
the guy that played right before you really made me dance and i paid quite a lot of money to dance.
can you play something to dance or let him play again?
can you play something to dance?

this is really funky and really well put together. awesomly groovy, zanf

lie the shuffly groove.
has this zanf feeling. awesome.
like the highs are dancing in circles around my head.
dunno why, but this reminds me of an elektro version of monkey island.a little mor bass would have been cool. giving it a little emore thoomp
BOOOORING. This song sucks ass!

love it. i agree with jdg a little. I'd love a change in beat pattern and less panning on the hats at some point (listening on headphones as well though, so it might be exaggerated). will listen again later. I really love the synth-stringy parts, but feel that they're still lacking in foundation a bit. good to hear new music from you!

great melodies and groove. i think it's bang on perfick. the build-up and release is really good and the mix has lots of space - i was groovin my way thru yokohama with this on the podder this morning.

one thing - i think the snare needs a little more bite

love this.you manage to to drop in new sounds/change things so it never gets boring. nice work. part of me was wanting a full on organ wig-out solo, but the more restrained playing is probably better.

Did you find it irritating as well?

i love that lead organish sound, its totally riffariific without being inyourfface. And it works very well with that bleepy little bass.

The small beat made me think you were gonna make it larger at some point... i think i agree there needs to be a size change in the track somewhere if the rhytmic element is gonna play a significant role.... i woulnd't want to hear anything loopy or drum machiney, though. Maybe some sporadic percussion, or better yet, that bass/pad sound at the end could maybe be doubled up with something really bassy and totally anchor the groove? Just thoughts.

Either that, or I like what kidko says: tickling. Maybe you can make this more ticklish? How i dont know, perhaps making the rhymic elements more sporadic (tickle tickle, stop...... tickle tickle stop....... tickle tickle tickle.....)

i also am a fan of the "shuffly groove" going on here. nice work.
