Release

--> I gots a show tomorrow, so I've been practicing. This is an improvisation with Nick's lapsteel - I might start the show this way tomorrey. I'm in no way a guitar player, so please excuse my pen-slapping on an open tuning! I also used an electric razor to vibrate out some drones.

I liked how spare the playing is in this...though it's a little loud for the rest of the track.

Cool about the electric razor...definitely adds a nice ambience.

I have a lap steel as well...they're just so great for creating atmospheres...especially with the open toonings.

i always wanted a lapsteel.

i'll listen tommorow tho.. im on lappy speeks

as always, immaculate pacing.

Major seventh is a sick interval to put in there. Im a sucker for minimalism that drives home a nice harmonic web. the resonance of the razor sits on a tritone? Feeling like it should resolve to the 5th, but it doesnt. Fucking lovely. Love the distorted verbage on those big hits.

OOH seventh against the octave! Detuned chord floating out. Damn, nice switch up at the end!
this is great!

Love it!

Just curious, but how do you apply your Novation SL?

once again...I love it and so does my girlfriend.

shit man, my cat loves it too...she's having an orgasm listening to it.

Really nice ... really like it that more and more people go back to introducing lapsteels/Electric guitars etc in their setups as soundcreation tools ... since I have an electric guitar I catch myself much more doing small improv's , ... you just pickup the thing and off you go ...

is that keyb a casio mtv 400v? just curious. it looks like one i have

the keyboard in the pic is a microkontrol, i believe.
this is great. lots of tension. one of the best sounding uses of a razor i've heard.

nice one erik! :D

damn dude. really sweet. i especially like those deeper low tones you add toward the end. it comes down very nicely.

You make beautiful music with yourself. (ewwww...)
Really, though, your music is inspiring and intelligent.
Thanks!
and break a leg.
and record it. (the show, not the leg getting broken --actually...)

i agree with pawel

thanks guys! i'd like to do more with lapsteel - need to practice practice practice though.
