--> Yo Yo Yo!

So, here's an older song that I still like but haven't done much with. Needs to be mixed, guitars recorded, maybe vocals. But I figured, wtf, I'll post an mp3 on here finally. Haven't posted anything since the myspace411 version of the site.

Yeah, really cool man, I see where you were going with this. I
am hearing soft (w/verb) vocals perhaps. its has a cool happy
eightees thing going on and u know i like that. Rock on man
thanks for that rocker.

nice! great start - i'd maybe give the drum sounds some more variety. do you have ideas what kind of guitars you're hearing on this? it's really strong as it it, but a killer melody would take it over the top.

Very movie soundtracky for me...maybe the moment of revelation, a beautiful kiss, something like that.

I hear high strings kicking the vibe even higher...with chikchikchick 16th high hats at the peak.

u got that weird EQ scooped out mids..
i dunno u still have that blown woofer?

pretty cool. I just listened to it probably about 6 times in a row on loop and just realized it. I feel like i just played Lemmings for about 3 hours. Not a bad thing, I like this one.

I love so much about this, Joey. Love the melodic material, so ernest and honestly enthusiastic. So sweet and happy. I also love the rhythm bass synth that comes in near the end. It's infectious. To me it needs to be fleshed out a little bit though, and had a little repetitiousness about halfway through which needs to be tended to in my opinion. Vocals and/or guitar would take care of that for certain! It's a really strong song. Finish it!!!!

mmmmm, i dont know, the snare sounds really clash, and the busy rhythmic synth really takes away from an other ise soaring melody.
Try clearign out everything u dont need, i think that will make it sound more professional, and it will groove better.
Definatly feeling the sea, pretty, sunshine vibe though. :-D

thanks dudes!

yeah, jdg i know it needs some eq work for sure.

lukep that's awesome! Lol i did the same thing.

fredooo!! yeah i feel the same way. I think once the rest of the elements are in place it will work a little better.

thanks geddup , i think as bleen said the drums need some attention. i usually save them for last as I focus more on melody and structure first. i'm no drummer, i play guitar so drums usually takes me longer to get right. also, some of that stringy synth may not make the final cut once guitar and vocals are introduced. thanks man!

Oh so fun and happy, I truly love that delayed scoopy sawtooth synth in there, the one that sounds like its run through a square-wave tremelo or something. Cant wait to hear this filled out.

I concur with the fleshing out...it's a really beautiful track. I wanna hear Greg throw some vocals on this...some really sappy upbeat vocals. Nice job mixedtape...

ha thanks man! maybe a greg and joey duet? but then the bastard would probably show me up ;)
