--> ok so im hoping this will push off my other release and not clog up the page. apologies if it doesn't. this is one i just made in the last few hours, considering it for the 'one week e.p'

is it a bit sparse? maybe far too repetitive? maybe far too much of a boc rip off?

i do once again apologise if this clogs up the page, its only because im writing so much for my e.p right now and i really want to do a good job (well as good as can be done in a week)

thankssss xx

EDIT: oh and yeah im gonna bounce it to tape once i get another tape recorder so hopefully some of the cheesy electronics might be slightly less cheesy.

cool cool it did bounce the other one off, so i take my apology back. IM NOT SORRY.

mmmmmm...... The voice samples are both a put off, and somethign cool. The high pitched voce in teh beginign is werid and sort of atonal, but then the drums come in and i didnt really notice the voice that much after. The breakdown with the lofi speaking is cool too. What genre is this? did u have one in mind or just general idm? Just curios. I love the drums, what kind of processing did u use? they sound like they were ripped froma record or soemthing, and i think that asthetic should be explored more. Cool track, and in one week too.
Nice:-D

thanks man. i was just seeing what came out really, downtempo i suppose. i had just listened to the song roygbiv by boc so i think it was in my head. the drums were a sample loop i had somewhere from an old soul record, but i did a high and low shelf, and a small cut in the middle on the first kit. then i just brought the second in wit a wee bit of compression.

eating strawberries and listening...it's laid back. I don't have a problem with the vocal snippets. Mind you, I'm listening on laptop speakers. The crowded halls sample could go I think...at least don't make it overlap with the music...It's good for a 4 hour spent track.

Nice...lookin' forward to the one week ep.

some how, keep those vocal bits, and make them less anoying/abrassive.

i will enlist the help of my two sidekicks, mr. compressor, and mrs. eq.

MUMBLETRONIC. I love not being able to understand anything.
There's one filtered sound, not the low bassy one but the higher up one that plays lotsa 16th notes that is a bit distracting. Its repetative, and unlike the other repetative parts, not so good. IMO. Otherwise, the "spareseness" as you call it works well. very laid back.

I think it could use one more thing at the end, something melodic... a really simple, slow synth line. Kinda like Plaid, how they always save some sort of simple beautiful synth payoff for the very end. So, there you have it, just be as good as Plaid, and this'll be good.

Not keen on the man voice but the kiddy voice is perfect.

Can't believe that noone else has noticed that this is absolutely brilliant. Get it finished!!

PS:

JOHN CARPENTER with beats

tempo's great for the drums. sounds laid back and overtly "up".
voices are great. bouncy offbeat spoken bits. ...

tasty!

maybe put a little cut in the main pad mid-low freq? let that kick shine thru a bit more?

Love it. Love that childish sounding vocal sample.

I can definitely hear the BOC influence, which is no bad thing IMHO. Very cool for four hours - you're obviously in the zone!
