Roshi wrote some zestful guitar parts, and you can guess what happened next-- mlbot vocoded them. Thier work has been called strongly vocoded. Even the word vocode makes some people uncomfortable. Vocode. Wheras other people, without blinking an eye, will refer to their music as hardcore, dubstep, or trance. Trance?
Then, believing in nothing, they added a dose of Slayer vst effects. Somewhere along the line, they began referring to themselves in the third person. You know, the Royal We, man.

I've been drooooling over that ELS vocoder ever since I deleted Vokator off my computer (when I switched to Live 6.0, I found that I could very effectively crash my computer every time I tried to remove an instance of Vokator from a track. Every time.) This track had the pleasure of Vokator in Cubase before it was brought into Live-land.
Heh, I recently demo'd someone else's vocoder plguin, but I uninstalled it from my computer. Sadly, the uninstaller program wiped out the entire folder the .dll was in. Luckily, it was just all of my filter-related VSTs, and not my whole VST folder... but still. Sucked.

oy clips are everywhere, but mebbe that's a good thing cos you doodz are all about the bigness
I think the filter sweeps are a little overdone at the top?
Really like the traveling percussion
and the guit noise is f'ing gorgeous
me loves how the vocoderness hints at melody every once in a while but never quite makes it explicit, it's a very mysterious and compelling effect--if you work on this more please resist the temptation to add accessible melodics (that's what ml is for)

LOL, cello is in another song that we're finishing up and another one.
Our songs all sound kinda huge, which I'm wondering will be a problem with the em crowd...most people seem to like background drone rather than in your face drone. Even Tim Hecker (though I love him) and Fennesz (love him too) are both kind of muted, dynamics wise.

Roshi, consider how popular all of the "post-rock" guys are these days, ie. Mogwai, Explosions, God Speed, etc. They're all really in your face wall of sound stuff (well to some extent); I think that listeners are pretty receptive to huge, loud, amorphous, and beautiful at the moment.

I am round. Round is a shape and thus technically not amorphous. 
jdguggo: are you talking about the vocator parts clipping? I just realized that listening to this track dislodged a lot of earwax, so we might want to fix le dynamiques.

I've got a -3dB version that should be clip-free.
Actually, I think this song was OK until Roshi came over and said "We hafta change this and that" and we ended up running nearly the entire track through a Slayer Send effect..... its....HIS FAULT!
I said "NOOO NOOO WE CANT USED SLAYER AS A SEND EFFECT FOR THE WHOLE BOUNCED SONG"
and he was all like "OH YEAH, GIRLY MAN, EAT FISTS OF DEATH!!!!!"
and I was all like "OUCH NO STOP YOU CAN REPLACE MY GLITCH IDM DRUMS WITH MORE DISTORTION, ITS OK!!"
