LOL@ pitchbend... totally did not expect that. Its like the spanish inquisition.

The upper Fmsynth riff is totally the bees knees.

If you keep working on this song, when that melody returns, I think it should be HUUUUUUGE. Layer in strings, orchestras, guitars, choirs, I dont care what, just lots and lots of them.

Oh and overdub some live handclaps.

Thats my .02. This is a feel gooder.

that percussive lead sound (whatever it is) feels good in my ears

haha the bitchpend is supposed to be kind of "shoegazey" but yeah I overdid it some. which is probably good because I underdid pretty much everything else.

I think I might put in a couple more layers of stuff though, that is a good idea. like a warbly pad that's basically an organ with a slow attack and decay. choir might be cool too.

if you are interested in how it was put together:
all sequencing is mmt8 playing with track muting, and I used the pitchbend on the Ozone.

the only sound sources are one monophonic patch the Micro Modular for the bass/lead(patch here), which is being run through the Quadraverb whose input is too loud and thus overdriven, and A5000, which has its own FX for the percussion.

the kick drum is an 808 sample from j_chot's competition. I put a slight pitch envelope on it, and adjusted the amplitude to make it shorter. there's also an LPF on that to muffle its pop, which would probably sound like shit with the mp3 compression.
the claps and "hat" are the same sample of my friend Etsuya and I clapping (also used in this track) but they are pitched & filtered differently.

this is cool. all the sounds are nice, slow pace. contemplative.

really nice minimal feel to it, i love the FM percussion lead. nice clap and hats.

Maybe try mixing a pitchbent + unbitchspent track together, so that the PB makes more of a "detuning/beat pattern" effect than a "rubber band stretching effect"... Shoegazers run their geetards through so much reverb and delay that the bending they do gets mixed in with original, and you hear beat patterns, which I like better than dry bitch pends. Roshi taught me this trick.

A high counter melody would make this hott, or elaborating a little more on the upper register of the instrument. Along with some more simple percussion.

But as is, I still like.
its so simple but so lovely.

its spareness allows the listener to fully appreciate the nice timbre.

oh this is great, loved it. great to do stuff too, very pleasent.

i listened like fourteen times. vote cool if you like this song. totally would. great feeling indeed.

thanks for all your nice comments guys
man, it's been more than a year since I last had a release!
