About me

I make instrumental pop music, loosley inspired by IDM, new wave, synthpop, and anything else my little head absorbs. Jeskola Buzz is my weapon of choice, warts and all. I just haven\\\\\\\'t found a replacement for some of it\\\\\\\'s more obscure functions, so I\\\\\\\'m sticking with it in all of it\\\\\\\'s 10-year-old, obsolete hexadecimal interfaced glory. Sometimes I play live shows in Seattle (and hopefully elsewhere soon). I also occasionally release music for free online. I love each and every one of you like the precious little snowflakes you are.

This one was made in record time for me. I wrote most of the drum part ages ago, for a remix that will never be finished, then left it sitting for a long time. I revisited it a week or two ago, stripped away everything but the drums, and built a new track on top of them, in just two or three sessions. I probably spent a grand total of 8 hours actively working on this in the last few weeks. Half of it was done in the first session, I picked away at it off and on for a while, then I wrote the last half in a burst of inspiration this morning.

I'm reeeeally happy with where it is right now. It's still a pretty rough mix, but I like the energy and melody of the track overall. There aren't a lot of elements to it, but it still feels really full to me. What do yo guys think? Any advice or criticism?

your songs are always so damn clever.

though one thing i notice, seems the bass takes up too much space.

damn this really gets going. bass is cool dont get me wrong, it just seems muddy.

hmm. the apregio-y breakdown in the middle is nice, comes back strong, mmm.

it seems to be beging for a timbre change in the lead synth near the end, to let more high freqs in and kinda scream.

i love miniature airlines.
Sounds pretty. I agree that the bass could use some clearing up. But those precusison flips are awsome.
Nice track
now this is music! the development of melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic ideas is very good. the mix is rough, but you'll straighten that out, surely. please post this after you finalize it. good work!
i like the sounds and tone of the drums a lot.

i was getting along so nicely with the sequencing, until skiiiiiitttttererererrrr monster swooped in like a banshee....i think it works very well on the shaker/hi hatish sounds but its very distracting on the crash and kick drum.

i like the title and i think the picture should be bigger!!!!
this is aewsome. you should spend less time on more tracks.
lovin it, what a great flow and consistency throughout the track. love the climactic part... really beautiful
hey, this is really great. especially for the first stuff you could listen top when you just woke up. went pretty well with my coffee

thanks a lot

can't say anything to the mix and sound and such. just listening on crappy headphones, as my roommates are still asleep
Yeah, the bass might be better without the growl, just a plain square wave maybe. Personally I think you've such a nice thing going with the melodies and the groove that the spastic drumming gets a bit distracting and could be saved for just the occasional build/fill but it's a 2-1 favourite that I'll be the only one who thinks that.
fb: maybe we can get him to quixit??
IT WAS GRAND NATIONAL day here in england on saturday did you know that?
Gorgeous. Dont do too much with it, it has nice flow. Love that main melodic part, thats awesome. Dont crowd it. Add details, fine, but dont crowd that organ belly lead thing.
Good good drum parts and sounds.
Love the elec. piano and the little tweeky synth.
I do agree with the rest about the bass sound. I like the pattern, just not 100% with the sound.

I am liking this track even more on the second listen.

I really liked this.

Drums are great and there's some real melodic/harmonic development going on here.

Thanks for posting this.
