--> a few weeks ago we participated in this project called "52 weeks", initiated by the friendly canadian netlabel Peppermill Records (http://www.peppermillrecords.com .

each week of the year another artist/band was/is invited to make a song with a smooth transition from the former participant's contribution.

so here's our song.
each band should have one week to complete the song, but in fact the artists before us needed more time, so we had to compensate the delay. in the end we only had 3 1/2 days to write and record this song.
sooo: it's definitely more a sketch than a real song. but i really really like it. so i thought i'd present it here.

now please tell me what you think about it.
destroy me!

ah excellent

love the breakdown with the hihats

oh goodness..great rhythm and percussion, and i mean GREAT!!!

oh thanks for the kindness.

here's the direct link: link

love the hihat sounds. love the frog-like sounds. love the accordion style sounds.
there's nothing about this track that at least sucks a little. 100% awesome. trhnks for sharing
one thing that distracted me a little was the panning of the voice. i was a little too much on the left for me

oh wow, thanks.

it is accordion & (bass)clarinet

we're a mini-orchestra.
yaaaaay!

Great.

Not a big fan of the buffer override end to the percussion.

But otherwise very alive and swirling.

oh hi...im back

energygiant, i missed you!

i think you could brighten up the vocals.

Cool track, love the clarinet and accordion. Its very gypsy of you.

thanks for direct link, now i steals your music.

Sounds great to me, even if it's just a sketch.

I like your previous songs too.

What kind of mic setup do you use for the vocals? Are you EQing some of the highs down to keep them back in mix? I think I hear what mlbot was talking about.

i use a rode nt 2000 straight into a digidesign mbox.
mostly i just apply psp vintagewarmer and no eq. i do the filtering within vintage warmer.
most of the time i hate my vocals/the way they sound...
