Helluuu,
been trying myself at some slow paced stuff, it definitely is quite difficult, I'm half pleased with this one, but I think there are some elements inside which sound quite good. It's also my first song in weird time (9/8).

those synths are really nice. i like the back ground noisy one especially.
as for the time signature, it sounds more like 6/8, you need to accent every third triplet for 9/8. you do have a good feel for the rhythm though. time signatures are a really good tool, try 5/4 or 7/4 next, you can get some really good unconventional grooves out of 5/4.

Hey eyesnine, yeah it's just 9/8 because my basic melodic structure is "half note quarter note" making for 3 beats. But the rhythm is just Tak tschi tschi Tak tschi tschi Tak tschi tschi :} I'll try 5/4 and stuff

Bass does a really good job of anchoring this...maybe even make the bass with a longer release time on the envelope, to help fill in the void.

roshi: you think i should let the bass take more importance in the track? or maybe add a second bassline at the beginning? I have recorded a few basslines on my fretless but decided not to stick them in. I decided to leave the crappy guitar as is, but maybe I should rerecord it (and tune it beforehand maybe . I kind of like the pad drop at the end, maybe I should give the track more dynamics like this?

Actually, I just wanted a bit more release on the bass...it cuts out after the note way too soon...just a quick envelope adjustment would fix that nicely.
I'm not a big fan of sounds with short release times...you need that decay, I think for the brain to accept it.

fucking ace man. i really do love the atmosphere. the melody is really building up something. i was a little distracted by the bassdrum sound. it sounded too much like several bassdrum triggered really fast after each other or like a flam or something. which is cool, but i would have wished for a little variety.
still amazing song.
