Roshi - Carrington (+bile)
Release
StoreTags: cello, yo mama is a yo

--> Here is another live looping cello piece. I actually took the loop into Live and manipulated it with pitchbending, filtering, and reverb, but it's not anything I couldn't do live with a little help from bidule. Basically, more my acoustic valentine.

This is part of a second demo for a label (don't want to mention the label as to not jinx it).

Anyway, is it too amorphous? Should I shape it more?

Edit: Added more bile + bubbles.

lots of bowels in this one... put a bit more head in it.. IMO

Okay...got it.

Less poop, more bile.

i love it.

thats it.. a little more bile.

Nice! I don't think it's too amorphous. Amorphous is good!

MMMMM very nice.
Good use of reverb to seperate out dry versus wet layers, makes stuff much more distinct and enveloping.

You've got these mountainous swells, which are like waves... but they have no crest. After these waves hit the listener, I think you gotta have a bunch of mist and bubbles that sorta trail over the listeners ears.

For intsnace, there's a reverberant resonance that I wish was a bit meatier... I dunno what's causing it... but it'd be really really cool if you could automate some sort of seperate effects chain that ran your sound through something fitlery and resonant, like an extreme flanger or a notch Filter, then ran that through distortion, and then that through huge reverb... and then be able to control the amounts of that that come through so that you got this thin noisy tail that is only noticeable after some other big swell occurs

Hmmm...will think about that.

I've got a bucket of bile, now...anybody want some?

The beginning totally reminded me of the intro to LOST!

I love it dude, I can't wait till all of these tracks are done. Then I give you monies!
yes. greatness. thanks.

Added more distortion at certain frequencies...new version.

I WILL LISTEN

Roshi this track is great. You've always given me great advice so I'll take a shot here: You might try including an unprocessed or less phased drone to establish a cohesive framwork from which the psychedelics are branching from, something to build off basically.

Oh and I love how it starts. And the name Carrington! Ha! did you see that movie with Emma Thompson?

wow...

fuckin a.. nice job. i think whitecar's advice is good too.. nothing to drastic tho.

Thanks for the nice comments, guys!

wc - yeah, Carrington is Dora Carrington (same as the movie, book, etc). The pic is one of her paintings.

Good advice - I don't really have a "dry" version of the piece (pretty much it's all effected), but I can layer on another overdub to anchor it.
