--> A track that I made for a video a while back: link
I added a slightly extended ending to it though.

Realize I haven't released anything for a long while... so here you go... a release.

If you were this piece of music, what steps of self improvement would you make?

you might try replacing the guitar at the end that comes in with a synth,

something kinda whiny high pitch buzzy, that you can make squeek and skwock to the groove?

thats what i was thinking of as the song progressed. something that doubled up and screamed.

great song btw. and you know, maybe synth would ruin it.

its nice how acoustic it sounds.

hmmm, interesting... which guitar? The one that fades in slowly, or the one after that? Or both.

i think its about 2/3 in. the first part the guitar and bass sound kinda mechanical/ cut, which is nice. gives a particular vibe. then @2/3rds that other guitar fades in that is all strummy. somehow this is anticlimactic for me. its like i want something more choppy,. or more energetic, big. you build up to some real heavy excitement and then pat on the sholder, give a hug and say goodbye. maybe a big smoochy time would be better.

how the ending is now is pretty nice. its not omfg nice though, imo.

lol

i was gonna say huge ugly when the levee breaks drums and then they appeared.

the end phrase isnt as distinct as the previous build. i'd just spend some time on that. great song!

Man, I wish they were more levee breaks llike... Don't I have to take my drum set into a massive atrium for that though?

Ah ha, I see now cclub.

I think there's consensus... more boo yah on the end guitar bits.

makes me want to put DRM on my music tho..

oh goodness...this is excellent!
jdg, you are restricted from listening to this a second time.

yay! loved this - thanks.

god damn, so dope

where did you get the drum sounds?

great work matt

Thanks!!

drum sounds: groove machine, I think it's called?

Yeah, I remember the track from when you posted the video. It's kickass.

You have a great ebb and flow in your tracks that I would be hesitant to mess with, so if this one wants to get all nasty and then back off and be a little indie rock aloof, maybe you should let it. That said, it feels like it wants to build back into the bonham drums at one point near the end, and it decides not to. You could try double dipping and see what happens.

Speaking of Bonham drums, what is it that makes them so untouchable? I have some outtake samples of him bashing away and I always go back to them, it's like they kick the ass of any other drum break. You can tell that he's beating the shit out of them, like the skin of every drum is about to break, and him grunting away over them like he's giving birth adds a little sumpin' too. But yeah, would you have to drum up on a mountaintop during an eclipse to get the same sound or what?

yeah, I have no clue... whatup with those bonham drums. I'm sure the micing and the kit has a lot to do with it too.

awesome and inspiring. GREAT sound!
