--> This might be an odd question but i'd like to know anyone's opinion on the genre of this track as I'd like to better market my music (once I actually complete an album).

My influences on this particular work in progress were Tom Waits, Autechre, and train track prisoner songs. The vocals are not included in this mix. I don't sound like Tom Waits unfortunately.

Well, someone just told me it's dance/electronic music. Which makes sense. If it were at Borders Bookstore then yes, that's how it would be categorized but if i'm promoting this on foot, is this the sort of thing the IDM crowd is interested in?

i got it. maybe i should ask what labels might be interested. i'm thinking this material has qualities similar to matmos. so perhaps matador is interested in this type material? What labels do some of you often listen to? i'm asking because i'd really like to finally release some music as all my friends have done so already. or many.

I dont know what you call this... but its good stuff.

I dont know, its pretty eclectic so you'd have a hard time genrefying it. Labels? I dont know from labels.
