--> Here is a song that I've been working on for way too long, fiddlin' around with things.
All the usual commentary on mix and tech is more than welcome, tho I'd like to know if you think this has too many disparate parts. It came together pretty well, but let's hear what you think.

I thought all of the parts flowed well into one another.

awesome tune!

the second part, where it gets busier, could use some separation but i dont know how.

the pads come in. and your whole mix ducks.
turn down the volumes on all yoru channels at least 6db. AT LEAST.

try that.. and im sure your busy part of the mix will sound much better. and if its too quiet.. just turn up your speakers! :D

thx dooders.
Having listened to this more now as a piece whole... I really begin like the flow.
I'm pretty proud of this one actually, it began as a totally different animal altogether. I chiseled it down to bare bones and then built it up and destroyed and repeat several times and now its a piece that I really like a lot. Possibly me best effort yet.

I feel you on the busy 2nd section, I wonder at how that seq line comes in abruptly and then goes out abruptly.

Oooh, neat.

Good use of psychopation

I would maybe filter the pads a little so they're not so thick...they kind of obscure the melodies and basslines in the second part

holy flip dood.....so well executed.
the craftsmanship on this is top top top quality.

wowza!! thanks energygiant.

I agree, awesome tune. Maybe just cut the pad out when the drums get busy?? They get thick enough to be kinda pad-like anyway during that part.

really great track electrodan, reminds me of some of that "golden age" IDM type music, like the good Plaid stuff, and black dog--it's really musical, and well done. I agree with the peoples about the pad sound maybe a bit too up in the mix, but great track!

less volume on the 'pad' indeed
