I REALLY enjoy your use of the guitar. At least I think that's what it is. I sat here and listened to all of your stuff a few times through.

thanks!
the samples are from an acoustic guitar with nylon strings. to tell you the truth i'm starting to get more than a little tired of my guitar samples. i've got a couple more releases to come with just guitar samples. i think i've made well over an hour of finished music with just guitar samples in the last 9 months.
i've got a flute i need to sample again with my new zoom h4. when i get some quiet time in my apartment i'll get that done. i'm hoping to meet some instrumentalists in toronto and get some more variety, so i can compose more complex pieces.
i've been thinking a lot about installation art and such. i have the ambient noise in here and in a previous release (the sea and the city) to place the music in context. rather than saying this is club music, for example, and expecting people to listen to the music in a club, i say this is a piece for listening during a thunderstorm in july, then i use the background noise to place the listener in that context. i think its effective and doesn't take away from the more musical aspects of the piece.

I might be able to get some cello samples to trade if you'd be interested by the way.

if you can get me a chromatic scale (carefully tuned) i'll make a trade. just a few samples won't cut it though. also expression is nice. like a set of vibrato samples, and plucked, and different bowing positions to bring out higher harmonics. the list is endless.
i can chop up a chromatic scale and otherwise prepare it myself. i have a full set of guitar samples from low E to high A (30 notes): open, 1st, 2nd and 3rd harmonics, muted and slapped (about 180 samples i think) to offer in return.
mail me if you're interested.

You may be tired of what you're doing, but you continue to keep me interested with these compositions. The storm and bird samples really add something.

i know what you mean about the patchyness. i'm hoping v2.0 of my sequencing machine sounds a little more organic.
