--> hey, i was just preparing my sets for the laptop battle. and i order to defeat manuel (daswesen) i decided starting early

this one is something i was working on and still do.
i'm not quite sure, normaly, this acidy type is not the studd i'm used to. so how's the progress? how does this evolve, are there enough elements? too many?

how's the punch of the bassdrum? too much? enough? more?

to i need more changes? more idm?

and it starts off a little bit nasty sounding. so maybe you wanna turn down your speakers/headfoonses a little

more punch
less idm
i had to turn it up (but ive only got 1 crap speaker)
nice squeaks

so it's still too idm?

damn, there need sto be a switch that's turns of my idm-genes

no its not too much- theres little bits here n there but its ok

i like that chirping-squelching 303, esp. the lower digeridooesque parts
maybe add some "dirt" to the bassdrum/drumtrack?
maybe another up-front sound/distinctive noise somewhere around the end for enhanced NASTYNESS
trademark nq idm-wankery is a plus

(^^ my thoughts after listening 3 times)

i speak as a seasoned laptop battle vet...... hahaha.

needs more punch, more dirty booty bass, but otherwise killer. not too much idm. very sweet progression. this is really good. please release the completed thing one day.

ha. cheers for the comments.

so it seems, this one is lacking punch and more dirt. though i have to add, that besides the bassdrum and the snare, there's no compression yet. but i'll dig deep and will shovel up some of the nastiest dirtiest dirt around

and of course this will be released.

gimme some subs nils! otherwise i really like it. looking forward to hearing the next version.

so far so good then. needs some bigness though, but I dig it. Look forward to hearing the final version.
Mmm, yeah get to that booty bass sooner... and dirty it up in places.... like, make it too dirty. So dirty it drips with sleaze.

and consider doubling the number of kick drums you got going.
And for a laptop battle, it seems you can never have too many breaks/transitions.

Lastly, before you go to battle, I Hve a few choice quotes from Machiavelli for you:

Men should be either treated generously or destroyed, because they take revenge for slight injuries - for heavy ones they cannot.

No enterprise is more likely to succeed than one concealed from the enemy until it is ripe for execution.

It is much more secure to be feared than to be loved.

maybe i'd just let some computer voice say that machiavelli quote at the beginning

awe shit! make this as phat as you can without blowing up teh woophers. crazy fun stuff nils. love it.
peace

LOL

ditto on the dirt. I couldn't get into it at first, thought the 303 was too loopy, but if the dirt is injected, it will rock. I can hear that now.

kabooom!

The bass kick is definitely weak. Sometimes it might be nice to hear a bigger version with a much longer decay.

Several minutes in, the synth sequence gets filtered a bit, making it much more interesting. I'd like to hear the sequence start out with that filtration, and further evolve from there. I wouldn't mind hearing a nice pad chord progression roll in too, as I know you can do those really well.

needs some kicks (booty)

with long sustain..

phatter!

and subs--peeple respond to dirty bass

really like the studders and glitchiness..
