--> this past friday i played a live set with the kerrytown dj collective at a house party in downtown Ann Arbor. three dj's playe4d before me and the last one, dj blackout, had the dancefloor packed and freaking out... like 60 people in a dark dingy basement going crazy. so i go on... the set went pretty damn well, as good or better then the practice recordings i had.. despite that about 5 minutes into my set 2/3 of the dancefloor had left because it was too damn electronic for them. it was pretty disheartening but at the same time the 20 or so people who stuck around really enojyed it. after me two house dj's (can't remember there names) played an amazing set. all in all it was kick ass

anyways, heres a piece of a practice set i recorded earlier that day... this is more or less what i opened the set with. theres a fair amount of wankery but the groove is tasty regardless.

machines: electribe emx, electribe er-1, future retro 777, shit behringer mixer, garbage behringer compressor, cheapcheapcheap lexicon fx unit

theres another part of this jam on my site korgborglar.googlepages.com featuring the most disgusting digitaldistortion bassdrum loop i'll ever make segueing into billie jean, if you like this check that out.

Why do I never get invited to nice parties? (no punchline)

Very energetic -Highlight for me so far, where the filtered chords come in, would be great to keep them in longer if you do this again

that 303 line goes oooon a bit though for me :-)

Restrained live tweaking on thi whole. Nice!

great, really wicked old skool style acid sounds, with some nice builds and the chords were cool.
I loved it, I played it super loud

the TB303 kinda dominates. and then there's more sounds!
i like it once i got into it more! good stuff. i also want to go to a party NOW.

thanks for the feedback guys, jetsom i hear you on the repetitive thing. my biggest problem with my liveset getting caught up in some minor aspect of the overall sound and tweaking away while neglecting a lot of more obvious stuff that statically loops away... like doing delay and reverb detail work on the hihat while the 303 stays the same forevar

glad to hear you all enjoyed it, we're trying to make this party a monthly thing, so make the trip out to ann arbor some time

I would but its too far
