Guess What Synth - Tom Phonic
Release
Author: hardvoltnine on October 15 2007
--> So I got a new synth. This is a recorfing of an elongated jam in real time of me playing my hardwarez. I just got my nu synth saturday and havn't quit with it yet. I love it. Can you guess what it is. I kinda like the competition part so if win, you'll know when this release is towards the bottom of the front page. Please don't be confused by the ea-1, its old to me.

Clue 1: It has a sequencer, but not for musical notes.

ps, let me know what you think about the jam out, I'll probally jam it on stage soon, most likely a bit shorter version tho.

nice jam btw. i like it.

i havent listened to the song yet...but that picture is GREATTTTTTTTTTTT i really really love it!!!! is it a clue?

ef-303 ?!!

This sounds awesome.

Yamaha GX1

this is GREATTTTTTTTTTTT
but i dont know what the synth is

thanks for the good words. I can't tell you who, but some one already guessed it.

synth sounds beautiful! Nice jam too.

more variation on the high melody and perhaps on that strict rhythm, only very subtle, but it would make a difference i believe
the 303ish thing that comes in could be filtered a bit to make it a bit less dominating (or perhaps lfo the filter in combination with 'other stuff' so it's not just filter open/close motion). Still listening a few mins in and at this stage my thought that you need more melodic/rhythmic variation is enforced - nice work on envelopes and delay and res on the toms(/kick?) is nice too etc. but good call, i'd keep it shorter for stage (or rustle up some variation - either/or/both)

cool..

oh i wasnt asking!

much goodness.

i love this kind of live thing.

Well then, mister energygiant. You are correct, that is a picture of my EF-303, I only used it for reverb on this mix.

So the winner is monkvolcano, geez the first post. Yes I am the proud new owner of an MS2000R. Its great to finnally have a nice poly synth to use.

Thank you Jetsom, I appreciate the tips, I totally noticed the stand outness of my ea-1 after you pointed it out, I'm gonna have to see what to do about that for sure, especially cause It will be hard to notice if its killing the mix on stage.

monty.

. judging by the picture, those sliders I have seen nowhere else but my roland sh-32

they're really great, I agree. . apart from the filter stepping, but thats what my evolver's audio in is for!

^edit i are wrong. . lol
