tantan - broke my leg

--> as many of you know (and some witnessed) I recently fell and smashed my leg to bits, and as a result haven't left the house in three weeks (and won't for another 10, save for appointments and such). This is easily one of the worst experiences of my life; the claustrophobia and pain are overwhelming sometimes. So, I've funneled the shit of this experience into this--the most obsessively I've worked on a song in years, rewriting and revisiting until I'm happy with every detail. It needed to be hugely emotive, but build to something unresolved and tense.

Listening to this makes me feel a hell of a lot better. I don't know what it is, genre or otherwise, but it is whatever I needed it to be.

It builds power as it goes, I like that.
Purposeful.
Nice arangment.
Kinda sounds like enemies facing off on an ancient battle field for the last time.
A bit loud once everythings in place, but perhaps that was the point.
Either way, this is sweetness in audio, especially the come down.

how did you F up your leg? hope you are better. i made my first song in six months or so after getting the flu this weekend.
I have nothing to complain about, hearing about your leg and all. Shit. lovely piece here. Hope you get out and about soon!

i love the hihats bits and the reverbish percussion.

that beat came kinda unexpected, but not in a bad way. sounds awesome and fits well with the rest of the more atmospheric pieces giving it a nice counterpoint.
the strings and the melodies are cool, but i was hoping for some epic kind of melody also coming in. something more clear and not so disjointed.

great track. thanks for sharing. i hope you recover soon. and get you daily calcium-fixes.

and don't regard being forced staying at home as a bad thing. invite friends. enjoy having time off work make more tracks like this one

this all has a cool locust (from apollo/r&s-fame)kinda touch. love that.

Thanks guys -
luna, here's roshi's blog on what happened: link
yg - locust! awesome, I used to love that stuff. cleaner lead melody is a good idea, thanks.
atlus - some loudness is okay with me so long as its dynamic and not loud all the time, I can dig the contrast

Spooky ending.

I want it to get more bombastic (keith moon style drumming) after it gets quiet, building to a crazed frenzy.

omf keith moon

okey if you can play me some keith moon drums I'm there!

sounds awesome - something good's coming out of this after all! keep it up

you're gonna get.. SPACE ... MADNESS... !!! outdoors is over-rated. cold, damp, meh..

This is awesome, tantan... has somewhat of a 'recoil' feel to it, in some places - quite well thought out and executed... see, there was a reason you fell and smashed your leg -- so you could write awesome tracks uninterrupted.

'haunting and beautiful'

'purposeful, nice arrangement...'

see, the reviews are pouring in.
thnks doodz
mullet - yeah, recoil! I sorta had him in mind, as you picked up on I don't relate to all of his work, but I love how carefully he builds atmosphere and rhythms
monkey - well, except that we've had like three straight weeks of sun!

ok. fucking ace.
but. let me tell u what drives me crazy...

that zing/boing hihat sound
its not the the sound itself.. the static quality there of.
it does not change, or evolve sonicly, in any way.. just that same boink boinbkboibkbkkbkbkb

modulate some filter on its ass or something... (and gain/velocity dont count)

BUT WORD UP DOOD>
AWESOME TRACK

lol

okey

you and mlbot both hate that kinda thing I'll fix it

Thanks!

well i hate mlbot.
so, that part of the song is now my fav

mlbot also hates golden showers

r kelly is over.
