--> Hello all.

I now have eleven releases on this site. All of them but one Tommy Shane song make up the ten songs of my essentially finished album "Lycopods". All of the files have been updated to their current form.

This song is one I mostly finished two years ago. But I've been tweaking the eq recently. It's mostly made of a sampled gu zheng instrument I built. There are also some chimes and a preset Tassman bell patch.

If any part of this bothers you, let me know! This record has to be done before Christmas.

Thanks.

It starts out nice and dark, however the main melody gets a little too optimistic for my taste. The mix is good. Flows well. Maybe a little too long?

I like the way the track gains momentum from dark to light, I really like the discords too.
This track has a very eastern circular feel (in the way it flows without necessarily reaching a conclusion while western compositions tends to be more gratuitous)

on my second listen I can say there's nothing really bothering me about this track apart from wanting to hear more!

yeah, it starts kinda dark, but then that great big ball of radiation in the sky gets ta shinnin.
i really love the organization in this. The mix is pretty crisp.
True, it is a bit long, but it goes so many places.
Beautiful.

bloody great!!

I was listening to clogs up to when I stopped by to listen to this and this worked very nicely in that context - and I love clogs ;) great work dude - i want your album...such a refreshing sound you have!

oh man, so lovely. The composition is really superb, and the sounds are ace. I LOVE the way the interlocking melodics introduce rhythmic variety throughout. Structural this is remarkably complex and continually surprising. You are a very gifted composer.

sounds good ffrom here

That first instrument sounds amazing, indiscernable and rich. The sound in general seems nice & crisp in these headphones. One thing that struck me was how 'sequenced' higher pitched stringed instrumet sounds. Hmmm... not sure.

Thanks for this
Jetsom, when you say sequenced, are you refering to the note quantization? Or is there some pitch shifting artifact you're hearing? Parts of the song do extend above the highest note I sampled. And just because I'm a headphone geek, what were you listening with?

Sam, can you enlighten me? What are/is clogs?

Even the most isolated artist loves to get positive feedback. Thanks people.

i remember posting to this song, but comment didn't post properly. I love the snounds...
Really fascinated by the making of your own bell. cool!

hey nick, this is clogs - link (a recent find for me) - I was listening to thier Lantern album. Not the most obvious links to your stuff on some of the tracks but others for sure (to my ears) - and just worked great in the context at the time.......and i felt your work was well worthy in that company!

yessssss. this is my favorite nick notis song now!

this shit is the mutherfucking shit mang. Dude.. I liked it, very epic.
