found (really old track)

i recorded this in 1998, i think.. maybe early '99.. anyways, i just rescued it from a cassette, so it's a pretty terrible recording, and it was a one-shot take anyways, just an idea.
thought some idm heads might like it, i was pretty heavily influenced by ae, boards, warp-ish stuff, generally all english electro with excessive amounts of reverb..
i find this rather pleasant, not one of my worst moments. all hardware i think (606, korg's, yamaha cs10, maybe a crumar)
cheers, i'd love feedback, this is quite nostalgic for me.. i wore excessively large trousers back then and went to "raves"..hehehe

I love the ... i was going to say old school nature, but then i realised that i couldn't quite say why i thought it was not a recent track. Oh it's the cs10. Maybe it's the way the sounds are recorded. It's nice.

Yea. Reprezent them 90s.
It sounds like the tape is in pretty bad shape. But there really is an appeal to the way the sound has been distorted. Maybe it's time to break out that tape recorder again, to use in tandem with your computer.
I also loved a lot of Warp stuff in the late 90s. This song really does the genre justice. Well done!

Man how old are you guys? back then I was a stupid 18 year old making crap music on a drum machine and sound forge, and never made anything as good as this. Now I am a stupid 29 year old making crap music on a laptop, and never make anything as good as this ;)

i was uh.. 22 in 98. a palindrome! a good year for me.
i'm glad y'all like it..some of the distortion is also probably due to my fondness of overdriving the crappo mixer i used.. i didn't have good kit, so i tried to make it sound like i had good kit by trying to make it sound like bad kit when in fact it was actually bad kit being made to try to sound like good kit sounding like bad kit.
..
er, yes. so, thank you for joining me in nostalgia-ville. perhaps i might try to resurrect some other bits. i found.. there was one track that for some unknown reason flips to the other side of the tape.. i can't recall if the tape broke or if i hit a button during recording, wierd.

i would loooove to hear something done with this, i don't have the energy or the cpu for it atm, ie ripping it up in live.. some of you chop/edit heads maybe?? i think it would make a wonderful little EP.. an original buried track with massive sick new cuts of it.. anyone?
