--> Howdy folks - this is a track that Sebastian Krueger of Inlets and I did in the summer of '06. We played a live version of it in Brooklyn, recorded it, and promptly forgot about it! I don't think we're gonna use it for anything so here it is. :-)

Wonderful progression.

Would love to hear some bass in this this to round things out.

love it - great production and mix - just really enjoying this erik -

damn, i forgot about this too. this track is awesome. i like it even more now that sebastian is super-famous, because everything sounds better when someone's super-famous.

im on my 3rd listen in a row. had to pause it real fast to say i really really really love this!!!!!! good stuff.

can you tell us more about the setup/instruments/patches/etc used to do this?

i love that it is both glitchy and melodic.

ok gotta go listen a few more times.

Thanks!

Setup was: Seb's guitar amp miced clean, and also fed into a max patch where it was processed etc. All the electronics is that max patch, which is what we used for the live version. When we recorded it in his bedroom I modified the patch so it recorded the various parts of the patch to separate files. So I had an isolated drum track, bass, a few layers of processed guitar etc. Then I took those into digital performer and cleaned up or cut out bits I didn't like (there was this bit of processed guitar dealy I had built into the patch with no "off switch" that started getting reallllly annoying to hear throughout the whole song, so I ditched it except for a few places.).

So it's a live take, but I went back and cleaned up the mix etc afterwards. And that is the story of that! Thanks again for the nice words!

Also - nick, totally! Even when canned corn got famous it started tasting better! Delicious famous canned corn. Mmmmm.

This really is great. Well done. And good for Inlets if they're indeed famous now. I enjoyed the hell out of their free MP3 release.

beautiful.
what sorts of processing does your max-patch to the guitar?

Very melancholic and pretty, edging on a bit depressing.
As always, a wonderful track from the one who can't walk nor run.
