--> I'm working on writing a song for a new trio I'm going to be playing in for a few months while I'm in the twin cities. My cousins Ingrid and Laurel will be joining me on cello and violin. So, it's a work in progress for sure! Thoughts please!

UPDATE:

Thanks so much for the comments and crit everyone! I did some more work with these things in mind, and I think it's coming along. I changed the link to the updated version, this version: link
The old version is here: link

Tomorrow we start turning it into a live thing - looking forward to it!

Here's the lyrics:

we feel our way out
it feels just like

sunday's fear and doubt
it feels just like

we steal each green sprout
it feels just like

sunday i'm devout
it feels just like

wow - its great to diversify and work with othe rinstrumenst and people

this is really "sweet" and got that he can jog childlike playfulness

nice one mate !

definitely needs some development, but it's going in a great direction. i think you should get all long and looped out on it and make a new genre called soft kraut rock.

hey erik, this is great! very sweet and hecanjog-ish as david said. I think it would be better if the violin wasn't actually pitch shifted (not sure if you plan to rerecord those parts since you said your cousins will be helping in that respect), but i really like the song itself. very pretty!

I'm really liking this a lot! Really.

Pretty - nice production...

is there going to be cello and violin added?

as always you have a briskness of sound that makes me feel like it is the first day of real fall weather.

I would like to hear those pitch shifted violins interpreted with a real line on the instrument.

other than that, I am in love with the power levels in the rhythms. AND!

Great vox on top. And the bassline is superb.

Oops, sorry, somehow I was listening to a previous track...

This one has an awesome use of the violins...
niz'ice. a very melancholic feel sorta . . . but playful. I think you'd be able to have a bit more development with this if you carefully planned it...sparse and effortless it should be.

thank ye brotha man

aye!

its crispy meloncholy with a really cool clarity and i like the pitch shiftness. really pretty
didn't you live in milwaukee??

really nice, i enjoyed listening to this.

lovely.
loved how you used that static sound... nice snappy beats too.

nice work with the vocals. it sounded to me like one of the new elements in the first section was out of tune... on purpose perhaps?

i hate you
your music is too awesome
There's a hit on every quarter note for a spell there that drives the chord progression that bugs a bit after a while--the sound is too static and too repetitive melodically, at least to my ear

Very nice piece! I was just listening to some of the post punk/new wave tunes I loved in the late 80's/early 90's, and this has the best of that world combined with some tasteful and contemporary drum programing.
