--> Makunouchi Bento and I did an online collaboration of freely improvised acoustic ramblings, and now it's available for download on the digital biotope netlabel:

This is one track here, but at that link there is a full 6 track EP for download

We are the Jebel Chamber Orchestra

We all made recordings, and then sent them back and forth for editing and layering. There was no effects processing or anything involved--it was all 100% acoustic. I also recruited a couple of my friends--Justin and Patrick--to play saxophone and Baggerhorn, respectively, and freaked out.

You can see the credits for who played what on the release page. It was a great collaboration, very fun to do. And there will probably be more in the future!

Very interesting soundscape ricemutt.

"Like a Monkey Without a Cuckoo Clock" is a journey through the inner mental patient mindscape of the Jebel Chamber Orchestra, expressed in acoustic honks, bonks, scrapes, and screams, and other outbursts. Prepared piano, homemade instruments, and garbled screams collide to tell the story of our crazy joyful Jebel monkey.

(i) love it

I really like this piece. Very well executed and very refreshing. I love the sound of the room that you get, it sort of expands as the piece moves forward and more elements are added.

hey, check out the whole EP! there's 5 other tracks

some great extra (fan) artwork on this ep here:
