Hm, hope it holds up. Who knows, I don't have good monitors. All I can say is that it sounds good on my headphones, and not great on the shitty monitor speakers I have at work.

agreed with bottom end comments. come friend.. deliver some bass on this track.
overall i'd say you'd be well off keying into more rugged thuggd out dynamics.
possibly angry up those strings a bit, make em more 'rushy'. the break is a bit flat and grey too. needs to drive it, not observe.

Yeah, thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I'm afraid of bass from previous comments about muddy mixes. I only wanted the actual bassline to kick in at those two spots, but that's not to say the kick shouldn't be banging throughout.
Will fatten up these shits next week at some point.
ekstrak - what do you mean about the rushy strings? How do you do that?

This is dope! I also need the boom boom! It's not bass that muddiness mixes, most often it's low-mids. Those kicks need to thump!

Yeah, upon leaving it for a bit I think the distorted bass that only crops up once should maybe be reconsidered or at least toned way down.
Do you feel like the kick has too much on the low end now? The original was a sample from an old track that really didn't have any low end, so I layered it with an 808 kick and then EQed the shit out of it, but I think a) the 808 sound is mixed too loud, drowning out the nice knock of the original. Maybe I'm better off just finding a single, decent kick with enough boom and using that instead of layering.
I'll work on the snare too. Again, really appreciate the feedback.
