--> ello. ello.

here is the next instalment of my ‘summer of doom’ set, which i will be performing with my friend grinner in cornwall in august.

this is basically the ‘backing track’ i have written, that we will play over – grinner on bass and me with my usual mix of odd kit / vocals.

would love to know what you think…if anyone is willing to listen to the whole 30 minutes that is? there is about another 15 minutes to round it off – as yet unwritten.

hope you likey! (please excuse the long silence at the end…forgot to chop it off)

ALSO: i am performing this in birmingham (UK) this thursday (24th). i am so shit at promoting my gigs (and it aint like i do many – doh!) but it would be great to meet anyone from here that could make it. more details here: link (or emmail me)………………………….

ALSO ALSO: it will be the first outing for my new modular – built by the mighty Psyingo / RuinElectronics - link ---- I LOVE THIS BOX OF TRICKS

ALSO ALSO ALSO: thanks to utofbu for the lush heavy pad sound at about 20mins in – as submitted for a MIXIT. sorry dude, meant to emmail you about it. any probs, i will remove it!

i thought i couldnt listen to this for 30 mins
but then the DRUMS kicked in!!
i can imagine it working well as a backing track to your mental live set up.

i might have to witness this live.
even though it might harm me.

ha! tis true. it might cause some harm...............e.g. to my chances of ever getting back into cornwall again would be great if you could make it down!

Great big and expansive sound scape Sam. I really love the part following the first drum buildup. There are sounds that resemble wind, and others that resemble voices. A lot of the drums sound rad too. They get HUGE in places. I'm really curious to hear what you've got planned for this stuff. Perhaps you can record your set and post it.

attention span too short...but I at least got to the drum part.

I love all the sounds - v. hypnotic!

hey, thanks both

nick : glad you like it. when mr.notis says it's a 'Great big and expansive sound scape' it has got to be right on some level it does indeed get very BIG in places. sometimes maybe too big as i need to battle my live output against it in places - but i do have some pretty harsh kit, which helps! i will definately try to record it and post up the results. i am bad at sorting shit like this though, so i hope it doesn't end up getting lost forever!

no worries about attention span roshi. it is a bit sparse for a full blown tune really, as it will have me and grinner adding stuff to it live...but glad you loved the sounds. i am looking forward to thurday's performance of this, based on recent practices.

wooha!!!!!

by the way nick, my picture is a self portrait. from our book : link

really great stuff sam. atmospheric, spooky and soundtrack-y. almost satanic sounding in places...

good luck on the gig tomorrow!

hey thanks dude!! satanic is good *wishes he knew how to do one of those satan icons*

ready to rumble.....i think! woop!

oh yeah i heard this and was pretty impressed

cool - cheers. it lifts it a lot live i think...........................my mate grinner has been laying down some super heavy bass riffs too, which bodes well

Shit Sam. Those pictures look sweet!

yooha!!!

just got around to listening to this, it's almighty!
