Electronic Music 411 - don't be afraid of the child within you

it's 3 to 4 years old actually...

i was in the university library with my laptop benefiting from the free wifi

watching the episode in flash and recorded it (at some points one can hear mouseclicks, but i didn't use those parts)

stored it, forgot about, until recently. the padKontrol is awesome!! so great in conjunction with live's drum rack and clips

yeah I've heard / seen good things of what people are doing with the pad control.

i love it.

you can swap between the 16 secenes so fast, it has only 2 knobs but you can assign them to up to 8 different ccs really fast, and the xy pad also, and it has nifty lights! and additional user messages. i think it pwns coparable akai products. what i don't really like is the plastic case, it's a bit too big and feels cheap

i might eventually start a project where i build a custom case for it out of wood or something.

the thing is that it's pretty new and i don't want to screw it up by opening it, being afraid of springs bouncing out and stuff that i will never be able to put together lol

but i will try for sure when it's a bit more rugged down, and i don't care that much anymore.

i need to because pretty much everything in my digital setup is somehow black coincidentially and the padKontrol doesn't really fit in there, being all white and shiny

i'm sure if you plucked up the courage it would make for an interesting mod.. I'm getting quite drawn to the pad control now.

I used to own a monome, but stupidly sold it on..
