ooh, sorry, missed this until now. really like it man!
i am a big fan of tom waits. i get a little worried when people cover stuff i like but this is sweet. seems to maintain the spirit of tom, without sounding obvious etc...
i also really like that bleepy breakdown. i started to thing 'uh oh, here we go...crass EM' but then it just mashed up and was gone. woke up my ears and then off it went.
i personally don't think you sing better than tom...but you probably feel the same way too. however, your voice is good and it works very well in this vibe.
