yo, i suck at mixing too.. and some people think that RDJ does too.. so whatev DAWG!

this is a querky little tune.. maybe not the most subtle mix, but you can at least hear all the parts.. nothing muddy.

i like it. ok?

i like the loose, carefree feel-the piano sounds a little gm to me, because all the notes sound like they're at the same velocity. that's the only jarring thing. if a real person were playing that some notes would be loud and others would be soft.

i like the mix.

I like this tb79, I've found I can get those gm pianos a little more realistic by just some slight filtering and the velocity thing that astroid mentioned...that is if you want it any more realistic.

love the perc.

I really like the mixing on this actually. I think there's such a big deal made out of getting the perfect mix, but most of it is a matter of preference. I really like the drums and pads around the middle in particular.

hmm..
I have been mighty robotic with my delivery as of late. Ill try to sweeten the deal with some varied velocities on the piano.

what do you suggest in terms of filtering p? Like automating some EQ in and out of the channel?

I just think digital pianos (and really almost every digital instrument) are a little bright (my sister has a grand piano she's been playing since we were kids..It always seemed warmer and duller)...I tend to soften some of the high frequencies (very subtly and a tiny bit of reverb). But I've been called obsessive so do with that what you will

good suggestion, and i agree. cheers mang
