here's the sonfware.
link

how to:
1. turn it "on" on the left top.
2. draw whatever on the pad.
3. click on "play back"
4. "playback" bar should move left to right.
5. you can choose "randomly" instead of "left to right",
6. or even grab the "playback" bar and perform manually.
7. basically lower side of the pad is lower notes and vise versa.
8. 8 notes poly.
9. the color determinds the sound and panning.

Cool thingy.

I would say put in a chromatic scale for good measure. It also might be cool to have a quick way to switch between scales during playback.

wow.. some cool harmonies came out of this.

sounds nice

great organization of sound. beautiful!

this was fab-tastic...thanks a lot man...much appreciated.

nice software, it's cool you released it, thanks.

first suggestions that come to my mind:
* i think there should be some way to delete just some parts of what you draw, not everything altogether only.
* it would be cool to have the option to route the sound to other outputs other than the standard one (i.e. to have the chance to use soundflower and redirect the sound to another host for further mangling). maybe what i'm asking is already there, i'm not familiar with maxmsp, but i can't see the option anywhere on the menu (mac osx max runtime 4.5)

while i'm writing this i'm listening to some melodies your software is making out of what i draw. really really really nice

also, if you draw white lines they still make sounds even tho they cannot be seen. is this intentional?

thank you for comments and kind words...
i'm working on updates now.

chromatic is coming. also i'm thinking about adding more modes such as messiaen modes.
also shortcut for changing scales will be added too.
thank you for suggestions.

technically speaking, deleting some parts will be very difficult because of the design of the storing system.
(and of course i'm an idiot for designing in such way)
right now i employ 8 indivisual buffers for storing each voice and they are rather randomly accessed,
so i can't go and point any specific parts to delete. if i want to add deleting function, i'd have to redesign everything from scratch...
and as far as soundflower goes, i'm not familiar with it because i'm a win user.
but in a long run i'm thinking about making this a pluggo/vsti so that any vst host can open it and do farther dsp.
and yes, white lines are intentional. white lines produce the most "colorless" sound... (few overtones)
you can use white lines over some colors to make contrast.
thank you for the comments and suggestions. greatly appreciated.

this piece is beautiful and the soft is beautiful.
thanks.
i'll surely explore the guts of your creation. inspiring. thanks a lot for sharing.

any updates on this !?
