--> I have this file which is a banjo scale (key of c) compiments of Monty (I think) that I hijacked from the web.

Live 4, all done in the arrange view (rare for me)
sine wav sample pitched for the bassline, mda / 4front piano AUs, daHornet for a pad... some silly record sample filtered (please tell me if it suits the piece or if it should be tossed)

So for once I think I managed to find a nice place for everything to sit in the mix. It could be extended but Im still trying to appropriate the sequencing.

comments welcome of course

I liked those chords that came in right before the quiet reverb section. Needs more banjo chords!

Nice. Yeah, everything seems to sit nicely in the mix.

I really liked it, I was confused though as it starts to loop again..but thats just the emPlayer.. I really like the whole minimal feel to it all. For some reason, I thought this would be perfect music for driving around in Miami.

As always Tom, your tracks make me happy. And I want to hear some Ukelele tracks, you still blew me away when we jammed.

great composition.

some parts of the production sound better than others to me.

fun stuff.
i second more chords ...
as is = fantastic.

i like this just the way it is.

the piano shit is great.

the rest is cool as well.

but i especially like the piano.

yeahhhhh! diggin the positive feedback.
but i still want to know what parts you liked and what parts you didnt like astroider...

oh crap. btw. "some silly record sample filtered" = just the hiss and pop of the quiet moments prior to actual music. and ... jeeze. da hornet was actually mda dx10. sober post too.. go figure.

the more banjo stuff is a surprize to me. kinda cool though because i was afraid that what was there was already too overbearing. wooooo.

loved the beginning.
piano stuff cool as well
chords come in
then it breaks suddenly-and those timbres sound a little weird and distant.
then back to banjo and great

so really just that one odd drop
roger that.
gracias. I have to agree... when i was working on it that was a section void of focus.

astroid is teh win in the song critique game.

then theres that akward silence where nobody else seems to think its appropriate to comment

ooooooh how familiar i am with these moments.
ok. yeh im a bastard that rarely contributes to the site. damn meeeeeeee.

end.

I really like this one, although moreso the first part of the track. My favourite part is when the piano first comes in over the banjo - the interplay between the two melodic lines is very nice, and the piano part doesn't do exactly what you expect. The chords are good too.

I'd probably cut out a couple sections to give it more of a direct buildup, and less stop/start (and that would make the cutting-out-the-beat part more effective). But that's a question of taste

thanks for the input plissken... I see what you mean about the stop/start...

perhaps i should make it sound more intentional or re-arrange to do that direct buildup you said about. hmmmmmmm.

its nice t,

more than the sum of its parts.

great work.

awesomeness . . . and yes...perfect music for driving around Miami to.
