Dope. My main comment is that the drums could have more a little more ambience/reverb - they sound really dry compared to everything else.

The melody seems a little autogenerated to me (the fact that it's on every note seems a little excessive to me) - I really enjoyed this when it dropped out and the clangy parts took over - I liked the spareness.

astounding

this twists my brain all up. how the hell do make this stuff?

i mean, the tone generation and chopping are not too hard to understand, but the way you develop your forms really makes my noggin ache. in a good way.

any words on how you think about form?

Thanks fellas!

Roshi: Yeah, the drums are a little wimpy ain't they? I've been focusing on melodies more lately, and I think it's been making me see the drums more as placeholders than as a driving force. I've got to work more on balancing them out.

astroid: I think the best answer I can give you, is that while I am writing the music, I'm actively trying to cultivate a kind of hatred for it. Like I'll write a drum loop I like, then I'll make myself listen to it until I'm like "fuck this!"...like when you like a song but then everyone else starts liking it and then before you know it, it's playing everywhere always. Then for the next loop I'll take the same pattern and start chiseling at it and shifting/adding until I get to something that hints at something else. I repeat this until I have the number of patterns I need to move on. So it's always changing, but there's always enough left the same that the ear is able to follow and adapt I think. It also helps that I get bored pretty quickly...which is why I always enjoy your music as well. Hope that answer helps ya!

some day i wanna sit down and make a song with you so i can understand how you work.

if you ever come to la....

seriously. i would also prolly' enjoy that astroid...
I love it. your stuff is sometimes darky and harsher than my ears like, but this is just friggin' energetic
and real solid. like a machine, mister. or, if you prefer, mister dj robot god sir

lunatinker: You are just too kind sir. Really appreciate that!

astroid: Haha hell yeah! I'll definitely let you know if I'm ever headed down that way and we'll get together and build a monster.

A lil' erratic and abrasive, but I like that, especially in this track.

Your tracks sound like they all take place in metallic factories...

METALLIC! Uh, yeah, not you Metallica, I"m talking about "skerror."
